General Questions
What is NRRWA?
NRRWA (Namma Roopanagara Residents’ Welfare Association) is a community organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for all residents of Roopanagara. We work on various initiatives including infrastructure development, community events, waste management, and representing residents with government agencies.
How is NRRWA different from Deepa Housing Board and Co-operative Society DHBCS?
DHBCS formed the layout and is managing Roopanagara since then. Even though few services like garbage collection and public lighting have been taken over by Pattana Panchayat, DHBCS is still providing many services in Roopanagara.
NRRWA is a body that represents the entire community and co-ordinates between the residents and DHBCS, Town Panchayat and other service providers. Hence, the two are complimentary and we work closely with DHBCS to ensure Roopanagara is a great community to live in.
What is the difference between NRRWA membership fees and DHBCS maintenance fees?
NRRWA is a Residents Welfare Association (RWA) and the membership fee is a contribution by the residents to become members of the NRRWA and to participate in decision making towards the general well being of the community. The combined strength of the members enables NRRWA to request, demand and negotiate better services from the providers.
Monthly maintenance fee is a mandatory amount that has to be paid to DHBCS. This is used to provide the following services to all residents:
- Supply of water
- Maintenance of borewells
- Replacement of water pipe lines/valves
- Sewage lines & treatment from time to time
- Cleaning of weeds & storm water drains
- Maintenance of roads
Our office is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. We are closed on Sundays and public holidays.
